Before your tan….
- Shower at least 2 hours before your appointment:
- Use a body scrub or a loofa. Be sure that the products you use in the shower do not have oil in them.
Note: If you use an oil such as coconut oil, as a daily moisturizer, please use hair shampoo on the body to strip the skin of any oils. Oils act as a barrier to the solution and will make your tan patchy.
- Shave and exfoliate before your tan.
- Once you get out of the shower:
NO deodorant
NO lotion
NO perfumes or body sprays
NO makeup or moisturizers
Make sure to DRY your HAIR before we arrive
After your tan….
– Wear long sleeve long pants. Loose-fitting, dark clothes and try to go bare foot or wear sandals.
– Completely avoid moisture while wearing the solution (this includes sweating).
– Be careful, while still wearing the solution, not to wash hands or spill water when drinking.
– Moisturize twice daily.
*** HOW TO EXTEND THE LIFE OF YOUR TAN***
– To extend the life of your tan, use our Tahitian Tan Extender*.
– DO NOT rub your skin dry after a shower, pat dry (rubbing causes exfoliation, which will shorten the life span of your tan).
– Try to AVOID swimming or long soaks in the hot tub (chlorine dries your skin and may cause your sunless tan to fade faster).
– DO NOT exfoliate or use exfoliating soaps or products until you are ready for your next sunless application.
About your appointment…
Before we are due to arrive for your appointment:
Choose what you would like to wear during your spray tan session (the darker the better).
- Women wear whatever makes you most comfortable (clients have chosen anything from swimwear to nothing at all).
- Men, you are required to wear boxers, shorts or swim trunks.
Remove jewelry (piercings can be left in but you may need to clean the jewelry after your spray tan experience).
Once your technician arrives:
She will answer any questions you may have after reviewing the FAQ’s.
She will set up a privacy tent in the location of your choice. Your spray tan will be applied.
You will get dressed while the technician packs up.
Any other questions will be answered and a follow-up sheet will be provided at this time.
